Teaching

Jamie Erin Murphy is an established dance educator and teaching artist in the Pittsburgh and surrounding areas.   Murphy has been on faculty at the Pittsburgh Ballet Theatre School for almost nine years where she has taught Modern, Jazz and Choreography/Composition, and is an instructor in their Education Department where she teaches Creative Movement at in-school residencies, Dance for Parkinson’s and Adaptive Dance for Children on the Autism Spectrum.  In the past she was on faculty at Youngstown State University, Ballet Western Reserve and Community College of Allegheny County (CCAC) and has been a guest Master Teacher at Seton Hill University, Carnegie Melon University, Point Park University and DancExplosion Arts Center.  Murphy has also been a Creative Artist under Attack Theatre at the Propel Charter Schools and Gateway to the Arts.  She has also had the privilege of discussing her educational experiences as a guest lecturer at University of Pittsburgh, Duquesne University and Carlow University.
